Welcome to the nursery!
- Babies receive a closed, tracelable leg band before they are 10 days old.
- We usually pull and handfeed our babies between 10-14 days old. **All of our Suffused Silvers
will be parent fed but hand tame, DNA sexed and held back in 2008 until they are 4 months old so
we can decide who to keep back for our breeding program **
- We feed Kaytee Exact hand feeding formula.
- We each prefer to use Pipettes to feed with. They are easier to manage than a syringe or spoon.
- We DO NOT "power feed" our babies. We both enjoy what we do and love the bond that we help create between feather
baby and human.
- Each baby is different and some wean as early as 6 weeks while others can be stubborn and not wean until 10
weeks old.
- They are weaned onto the same variety of foods that our adults get on a daily basis.
- When we are certain they are eating well on their own they will be placed on the FOR SALE page.
- DNA sexing is available through Avian Bio-tech for $25.00. *Babies must be at least 10
weeks old for us to do this*
Each new family will receive a hatch certificate with the baby's hatch date, leg band number and color on
it as well as any pedigree information we have. A toy, a small bag of food and some Critter Bread will also go home
with you and your new baby to help him/her adjust to a new enviroment.
Sarah and I will ALWAYS be available for you should you have any questions or concerns after taking home
your new baby. We are usually just a phone call or an e-mail away.
