Here at RBR we also get the title of "rescue" and sometimes get the "job" of taking in unwanted birds of all
kinds no matter the reason(s).
A lot of them that come to us have some severe issue's like Spud, who has no toes; Charlie, who has a broken
neck and a beak that always needs trimmed so she can eat; Billy, who has no beak and only one full wing due to abuse
from his previous home and Woodstock, who use to love to bite anyone and everyone he had a chance too & was brought to
Heather all the way from Dallas, TX.
Sometimes we also get in birds that are perfectly healthy and their people's lives have changed and they just
want the best for their feathered friend.
We do not buy these birds, they are simply given to us and chances are they stay with
either Sarah or I forever especially if they have physical, mental/emotional or other special needs.
We are not in the business of breeding the rescues that come in and we are not in the
business and turning them over for a "quick buck".
Every once in awhile though, one or two might come up for adoption and we require an adoption application
to be filled out as well as for the potential adoptee's to come and visit in person to make sure they and the bird(s) they
are interested in are going to be a perfect match. Our goal is to find these birds a safe, loving, nurturing and well
educated (in the needs of birds) FOREVER home.
If you or someone you know is needing to place their feathered friends in a loving, safe, happy enviroment please
let us know and we'll help if we can.
